WFP is reaching 71,000 children at last report with school meals. They want to increase this to 800,000 nationwide. Prior to the earthquake, WFP was reaching 500,000 children with school meals. In the past, WFP school feeding has provided stability for Haitian families during difficult periods. Today, with enough support, school meals can help Haiti through the harshest circumstances the country has ever faced.
How can you help? Visit the Friends of the World Food Program and you can find many ways to help Haiti with school meals and other food programs. You can donate to the relief effort, join a WFP state committee or learn about advocacy.
