
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is suffering a dramatic shortage of funding for its food relief operation in Yemen. The key challenge WFP faces in Yemen is dramatic funding shortfalls. WFP is facing a shortfall of 75 percent of its requirements for 2010 meaning that more than US$ 77 million still needs to be resourced as soon as possible in order to sustain vulnerable populations; by May only 14% of planned beneficiaries will be reached, and by August fewer that 4%.
