On July 2nd, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and Reuters AlertNet will be hosting a seminar in London on Hunger in the Media.
WFP just released a description of the event which reads:
"Our executive director Josette Sheeran will give a keynote speech, followed by four panel discussions exploring hot issues including the challenges of operating in violent contexts like Somalia and the future of food aid. Participants will include WFP staff, prominent media commentators, senior representatives from British-based non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and think-tanks, and journalists who specialise in humanitarian stories."
For more information about the event and directions please e-mail to community@wfp.org or worldfoodprogram@gmail.com. There will also be an audio feed for those not able to attend.
