WFP breaks out Short Messaging System for Yemen relief mission

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) aids 300,000 displaced persons from the conflict in Northern Yemen. This is part of a countrywide program to fight hunger.

WFP has suffered low funding for their mission in Yemen, resulting in reduced rations or complete suspension of some food programs. (See petition to support WFP Yemen hunger relief mission)

Recently, WFP introduced short messaging system technology to improve the efficiency of food distributions for the conflict victims.
