As Ohio governor John Kasich campaigns for votes in New Hampshire and Iowa, he has also received praise for fighting hunger. Last month the Ohio Association of Foodbanks called governor Kasich "a true champion for our emergency hunger relief efforts."

Hunger in Ohio: an update

Ohio’s rate of hunger is 16 percent according to the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s latest study. These are families and individuals that struggle to buy food. Their nutrition levels are reduced because they cannot purchase the best foods.
