World Refugee Day Calls Us To Feed the Hungry

World Refugee Day (June 20) calls us to action to feed war and disaster victims who have been forced to flee their homes.

The United States must lead by increasing funding for food aid programs, not eliminate them as proposed by the Trump administration in its budget proposal.

World Refugee Day (June 20) is a call to action to help millions of innocent civilians displaced by war. The UN Refugee Agency says 59.5 million people have been forcibly displaced by conflict and persecution. We have not seen these numbers of refugees since World War II.

Food rations reduced for refugees in Kenya

On World Refugee Day, displaced persons in Kenya are having their food rations reduced because of low funding. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) says that refugees from the wars in Somalia and South Sudan will receive 30 percent less food.
