Facing huge funding shortfalls for its operation in Sudan, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) needs help from the international community. A WFP document dated June 8th shows a shortfall over 200 million for its 2010 Sudan relief mission. Today, WFP announced that the European Commission had come forward with its largest donation ever to WFP. Josette Sheeran, the WFP director, issued a statement about the donation.
