United Nations World Food Programme Update from Pakistan


Here is the latest from the UN World Food Programme (WFP) on relief operations for flood-ravaged Pakistan:

Since the outbreak of flooding at the end of July, WFP has reached about 1.2 million people with a one-month supply of food. However, the massive scale of destruction, vast area affected and continuing bad weather is frustrating efforts to reach more flood victims. Some 15.4 million people have been affected by the disaster, around 6 million of which are in need of food assistance.
